Non-compete clause

It is a contractual provision in which an employee agrees, for a specified period of time after the termination of their employment contract, not to engage in professional activities that would directly compete with their former employer. The purpose of a non-compete clause is to protect the employer’s legitimate interests, such as trade secrets and customer lists, and must be reasonable in terms of duration, geographic scope, and scope of application to be considered valid and enforceable.
