A probationary period is the initial period of an employment relationship in which the employer evaluates the skills, abilities, and compatibility of the newly hired employee with the job requirements and the organization’s culture. It provides both parties with the opportunity to decide whether the employment relationship will continue in the long term. The duration of the probationary period is stipulated in the individual employment contract and is regulated by the current labor legislation.
